Gift-Giving Process

A Trades Company gives a little back to every client that purchases an HVAC installation from the company. This is a gesture that shows the customer we care about their home comfort, and that we value that they chose A Trades Company. The way we consistently achieve this desired outcome is through a simple but important Gift-Giving process. First, decide what the price point should be for your gifting process, if they are simply getting a new air filter or getting a UV light installed, a gift box is not given. In this case, we only give gift boxes for large equipment installs.

Our gifting process ensures that every client gets a gift box hand-delivered by the same sales consultant they have been dealing with. Once the unit or equipment has been installed the Sales Consultant makes one last visit, what we like to call a ‘Happy Call’, where we also give the client another chance to express any concerns with their new system or address any questions, they may have with it. When appropriate, and if the job was fraught with issues, a final inspection of the installed equipment should be done.

The gift is also a small piece of leverage to get the client to leave a review, give a referral and use you in the future. It is taking the first step in said future interaction.

Happy Call Checklist

  1. Give the Gift Box and thank them for choosing A Trades Company
  2. Inspect the installed work
  3. Ask if they have any questions
  4. Ask if they would like a demonstration of how to use it properly
  5. Inform them as to when the next maintenance should be done
  6. Ask them for a Google Review if they haven’t left one already
  7. Ask them for a referral

What’s in the Gift Box

The gift box A Trade Company uses features locally made treats such as jams, coffee/tea, and a personalized mug/tumbler/cutting board. When choosing items for the gift box always go for something local and family-owned for that extra little WOW factor.Finally, we do not use the Happy Call or gift box to sell them anything as it is an act of kindness. However, we do use company colors in its gift wrapping and place our logo on one of the items contained within the gift. This will leave a lasting impression and directly impact the chances the client will refer us to family or friends—which makes this small gesture a huge win if it leads to another sale.
